Harvard has betrayed its ‘veritas’ standard by rewarding a ‘journalist who considers an NGO with documented ties to Hamas and a long history of promoting patently false and extreme allegations about Israel to be a reliable source of truth.

HJAA Event September 22, 2023

When I spoke at a summit for the Harvard Jewish Alumni Alliance last week, I had to be escorted across campus by an armed guard.

It felt good to feel safe — until it fully sunk in that Jews now need a full security force at Harvard for an event about Jews and Israel.

Hundreds of Harvard community members donning miniature Israeli flags and hostage dog tags filed into Sanders Theatre for a summit about antisemitism and anti-Zionism on campus.

“In fighting antisemitism, we are fighting for what America stands for,” said U.S. Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Antisemitism Deborah Lipstadt.

The tone for the HJAA event was set early on by Avigail Gimpel, a volunteer with a burial society in Israel that, after the Hamas-led terrorist attack of October 7, 2023, received bodies that were headless and others that were burned alive.
